Wistaston case study
A garden makeover that brought light back to the dining area
Several trees, hedges and climbing plants were brought back under control during one coordinated visit.
- Overhanging hedge cut back
- Pear tree and pyracantha pruned
- Ivy cleared from the pergola and smaller trees
The project
A garden makeover that brought light back to the dining area
The problem
Several parts of this established garden needed attention. Ivy had spread across the pergola and through smaller trees, a tall conifer hedge was overhanging beyond the customer's reach, and the pear tree and pyracantha had become overgrown.
What Adam did
The conifer hedge was cut back, the pear tree was pruned and ivy was stripped away from the smaller trees. Around the outdoor dining area, ivy was removed from the pergola and the pyracantha was carefully reshaped.
The outcome
The work opened up the pergola, restored a more balanced shape to the surrounding plants and brought more light into the outdoor dining area. All cuttings and green waste were removed at the end of the visit.
